SENIOR EDITOR, EUROPE

Katie Rouse

CAS ‘26

Katie is a junior from Boston studying International Relations with a minor in Russian. Her interests include diplomacy, counterterrorism, and intelligence analysis. After first joining the IRR as a print writer for the Europe section as a freshman, she is excited to reprise her role as Europe Senior Editor this year. Her geographic focus there sparked while spending the summer of 2022 studying Russian with a host family in Riga, Latvia, and she has further developed her regional expertise by studying abroad in Spain in the spring of 2024.

Outside of the IRR, Katie is president of the BU Alexander Hamilton Society, the published author of a book entitled The Missing Half on accessibility of the U.S. national security field, and a previous State and Defense Department intern. She’s a big hockey fan (go Bruins!) and enjoys running, hiking, and watching sci-fi movies.
